Portland based emcee Libretto's first New Years Eve performance in 4+ years kicked off what expects to be a monster year in 2017. On January 2nd, the long awaited double vinyl "Captain Crook Snatchin' Crumbs and All" was released on on Kiasu Records. Libretto sat and talked about the new release, the changes in the Portland scene since he came home and plans for the future including his upcoming show with the Beatnuts. Portland emcee Epp has been fixture in the scene for a number of years. He's collaborated with some of the the best artists in the NW & was a member of a crew that many considered the next to represent as the sound of Portland.

Now a member of the Eyrst recording family, Epp is working on his next solo project that promises to be a classic. 

As we sat and watched the classic game of the New Orleans Saints return to the Superdome to defeat the Atlanta Falcons, Epp shared thoughts on his start in Portland, his time with TxE overcoming writers block and now being in the creative space he's. Check out this latest episode of Klyph Notes.

I've been a fan of Matt Nelkin, owner of Liquid Beat Records, for as long as I've been building with the Portland music scene. Liquid Beat has consistently put out great releases through the years from the re-interpretation of the Esther Williams classic "Last Night Changed It All" by the Love Loungers to projects with veteran emcee Libretto.
